The Small Object

Every time I come across a new website, I am seriously surprised. Just like with restaurants, food, and things to do, when it comes to the internets, I get stuck in a rut. I find myself just going to the same old few sites every time.

Well, yesterday I came across this fun little gem. I love it! It has the absolute CUTEST little craft ideas.

Like how to make these cute little embroidery floss thingies. (yes, that is a technical term)

How to organize your ribbon

But this has to be my favorite. Thumb wrestling Championship Belts. Who doesn't love something that lets everyone know who the reining Champ is???!!!

I'll gladly take either of them...I'm not picky.

Another One Bites The Dust

Only THIS time it is my ABSOLUTE favorite magazine of all time!!!!

First it was Blueprint. But it wasn't around all that long, so the love wasn't completely engrained in my soul.

Then there was Domino. There was enough said on that one in the blogosphere to last a lifetime, so I won't dwell anymore on it here.

And now...

Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion.

For 11 years I have bought this magazine.

I threatened my daughter's life if they so much as even THOUGHT about tearing out the paper dolls that, for a time, came in each one.

I would make a color copy, rather than tear out, the art that was included.

Since January I have been faithfully checking B & N for the latest issue, it was never there.

So finally the other day, I remembered to check the internet to get to the bottom of this and that's when I found this.

My heart is SERIOUSLY broken.

You see, I am a homebody.

I LOVE to be home.

Therefore I like my surroundings to be comfortable, happy & warm, but mostly to be a reflection of me, my life, where I've been and where I'd like to go.

It showed me that it's OKAY to display your Goodwill finds loud & proud.

And that trunk you drug home, if you LOVE it, use it!

Home is what you make it, it's not going to some fancy showroom or the likes and doing "that" version of home. It's the odd, quirky things that do it!

I've got an artistic brain & soul, and that magazine filled it.

It would spotlight the work, home & space of a creative-type person in each issue.

LOVED it.

Folks, this one kills me!

Drama much???

NOTE: These are the issues I'm missing. I'm putting out an A.P.B. for them if anyone comes across them at like a Bookman's or whatevs, remember me, k?

Thanks.

Love ya!

Reason #756 why everywhere else is so much cooler than AZ

Both LITERALLY & FIGURATIVELY

As an Arizona native I try to love it, I really do. But the more I travel & read, I realize that as hard as it tries, it will probably never have that "it" quality of a "real" city. Sad.

I've said for YEARS that if I could live anywhere it would probably be somewhere in the Pacific Northwest region of the US. Love everything about it, and just found another.

About once a month, a couple of graphic design artists run around Tacoma hanging up their posters in the downtown area. Everyone scrambles to get their hands on one of these and it has become quite popular.

This is the coolest thing, and you can read more about it here or here.

From here I found out about these. Now I DESPERATLY need a chain link fence so I could do SOMETHING like this.

I am DEAD SERIOUS. I think this is the coolest thing EVER! If you happen to see me on the freeway overpass attempting to create something, just keep on driving and let me be.

This is AMAZING...probably not for everyone, but I LOVE it.

How have I not come across this blog before???

Love EVERYTHING about it. Totally me.
